Barco introduces 3D reconstruction system for use with cone-beam CT scanners
In response to the fast growing need for instant imaging of raw cone-beam CT data, medical imaging specialist Barco has introduced a powerful 3D reconstruction system.
Utilizing the latest graphics processing unit (GPU) technology, the new system significantly improves the speed and accuracy of CT image acquisition.
The brand-new 3D reconstruction product, named TDRS-7101, utilizes the computing power of Barco 's MXRT-7100 graphics board to deliver real-time reconstructions of raw CT images with uncompromised image quality. In doing so, it markedly improves the performance of cone-beam CT acquisition systems used for dental imaging, radiation oncology and intra-operative imaging.
Barco 's TDRS-7101 solution has the additional advantage of offering not only CT reconstruction, but also 3D rendering based on the company's 3D advanced visualization technology. To further reduce overall system cost, the versatile system can also replace the standard display controller used to display the images. As such, the TDRS-7101 offers a cost-effective 'three-in-one' solution for today's medical imaging applications.
The TDRS-7101 3D reconstruction package includes a high-performance graphics board, a custom Barco driver and the complete SDK (software development kit). This comprehensive bundle allows OEM partners to rapidly and easily integrate 3D reconstruction into their own applications. To ensure seamless support, Barco manages the TDRS-7101 reconstruction system throughout its entire lifecycle.
