Projector Color Problem?
I got an Infocus 4805 DLP because I thought that DLP were better than LCD on color.
However now I noticed there is a yellowish color streak on the left side of the image.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem on my own?
Does anyone know how much would it cost to fix this?
1) It's been quite cold in the room for the projector.
2) I cleaned the lamp housing and removed the dust.
3) On the left part of the display, there is still the color distortion on 2% of the screen. Kind of yellowish on a blue screen.

The yellow mustard colored vertical streak, usually appears along the left-hand border of the screen in minimal colored backgrounds is the result of several factors:
1. Cold weather streaming causes the mercury vapor to slowly warm up with the projector on and the streak should diminish somewhat after some 20-30 minutes;
2. When the ambient temperature of the room exceeds 75 degrees, the streak will diminish;
3. As the bulb ages after 1,000 hours, the mercury vapors tend to spread towards the outer edges of the bulb, thus the yellow overall left-edge appearance.
4. The streak is quite apparent in the 16:9 aspect; not in the 4:3 aspect.
5. The cure is to purchase a new bulb, but there's no guarantee that the problem is permanently fixed. It may reappear with aging starting around 1,000 hours.
