i cant turn this lamp off...or on?
okay its lights of america sunlight lamp, its a desk lamp, we cant figure out how to turn it off, we barely know how to turn it on, were not sure how it happens, its touch button, its crap, and we dont have a manual hahahaha. and no we wont unplug were on a mission!!!!!
If it's one of those touch lamps, good luck. I had one too. They are junk. Mine broke in less than a year. If it has all the guts in the base of the lamp, mine did, you can flip the lamp over and make sure that all of the connections are good and tight. You will want to unplug it before you do this. You will have to remove the cover from the base. It may have about four small phillips bit screws and they may be hidden behind a felt pad. If they are, they may be concealed by the felt. Just feel around the edge of the base along the rim of the felt pad and you should feel a little indent or hole. Poke your screwdriver through those holes, unscrew all the screws and remove the base, then you can check all of the guts, wiring, mounting, etc. If these lamps or the base of the lamp is not properly grounded, they won't turn and off properly. They must have a good ground.
This is if it's actually a "touch lamp" where you just touch the metal base and it lights, then you touch the metal base again to make it go off. If it actually has a "button" or switch, then the switch is probably bad, and it will have to be replaced with a similar switch. Good luck.
